Introduction
Atlas Honda introduced Honda CD 70 Dream in 2016 for Pakistani audience. It was the major upgrade since the start of production of Honda CD 70. With the launch of this bike Honda experimented an unorthodox Honda practice which means totally changing a bike aesthetically. This bike was not introduced to replace the conventional Honda CD 70 rather this bike was introduced as an upgrade of Honda CD 70. The bike has the same engine, same gear box, same suspension but the body of the bike was completely changed. With these features the Atlas Honda CD 70 Dream price in Pakistan becomes interesting.
This article will discuss the details related to body, appearance, engine specs and gear box information.
Bike Engine and Gear Box
The bike offers the same 4 speed constant mesh gear box and the same 72 CC OHC engine like the classic CD 70. The engine can produce around 5.1 HP which is optimum for daily travel and commute. With this bike you, with your riding buddy, can travel on the road easily at decent speed. The top speed of this bike is also 70 KM/H plus depending on external factors including weight, tyres conditions, engine condition and air direction. Frankly in most of the cities of Pakistan a vehicle cant go more than 60 KM/H because of the traffic and road conditions.
The bike’s engine has the same technical specs as of classic CD 70 that means no upgradation regarding mechanical perspective. The carburetor, engine, brakes, suspension, ignition, dimensions and tires are all same as of classic Honda CD 70. The Honda CD 70 Dream price starts at around PKR 170,900 which is not much as compared to classic Honda CD 70 price in Pakistan.

Technical details of Honda CD 70 Dream
CD 70 Dream Appearance
The appearance of Honda CD 70 Dream is at 180 degree as compared to classic Honda CD 70.
Headlight, Back Light and Indicators
Let’s start with Headlight. The head light of this bike has totally changed as compared to classic one. The headlight comes with a headlight cover and the shape of the headlight resembles with the elder siblings like CD 100 Pridor and CB 125F. This headlight gives CD 70 Dream a sportier and modern look. The design of the headlight is only changed, not its functioning; that means it comes with a traditional halogen head lamp which is just average for night commute and rides.
The backlight of this bike is also changed as compared to triangle shape conventional Honda CD 70 light. The back light of Honda CD 70 is fixed under its seat and also attached with its seat while the traditional CD 70 light is attached with Metal Mud guard. The indicators are similar to the classic Honda CD 70. The physical attributes of CD 70 Dream back lights are similar to the Honda CD 100 Pridor, and Honda CB 125F.
Speedometer
The speedometer of this bike is very fancy and unique as compared to the classic one. Although the speedometer of Honda CD 70 Dream only shows the speed in KM/H, Bike Neutral information and indicators turn on information. These features are similar to the Honda CD 70 speedometer. The speedometer does not come with gear indicator, and trip meter which are the necessary features for daily commute and travel.
After all these things still the Honda CD 70 Dream has the modern and beautiful speedometer. Its appearance is like 2 circles, in one circle the information of speed and kilometers driven while the second circle has the name of Dream in the middle and glows when you turn on the head light. Also, this side gives the information of neutral status and headlight on and off.
Aesthetic Information
The aesthetic of the bike is very different compared to classic CD 70. The bike offers more plastic parts as compared to classic ones like the plastic mud guards, plastic at the bottom of the seat especially on the back side which also has the back light. . In Pakistan people generally consider plastic as cheap quality but in reality most of the bikes all around the world use premium plastic products because they are more durable, practical and maintenance free.
On the other hand the metal parts often get rusty with respect to time and also they put a lot of weight on the bike which causes the decrease in performance of the bike. In the case of CD 70 Dream the mud guards of the bike are made up of plastic which means less weight and more flexibility in case of accidents. The fuel tank of this bike is also different from classic Honda CD 70 providing sleek and more sporty looks.
The tyres of this bike are also the same like classic Honda CD 70 and the front mudguard of this bike looks familiar like its elder sibling Honda CD 70 Pridor. The brakes on both tyres are drum breaks like the classic Honda CD 70. Overall this bike derives its design philosophy from its elder brother CD 100 Pridor as Dream seems like a compact variant of Honda Pridor.
Conclusion
We have not discussed too many details of this bike related to technical aspects as we have already covered all the technical details in the Honda CD 70 blog, you can read the detailed information on that blog. This bike is a good upgrade over Honda CD 70 and as it has more unique design, the sportier looks and overall good finish. The bike is a perfect starter bike for university and college students as it provides the best fuel average and it has not had much power to entertain the adrenaline rush of young students. The price of this bike is also not much higher than classic Honda CD 70 but definitely the looks are way more better than the classic Honda CD 70.
