Honda CB 125f is an upgrade of its younger sibling Honda CG 125 the Honda CB 125f became a successor of Honda Deluxe 125. Deluxe was launched in 2006 at the time of the launch of Honda Deluxe was a great choice. It comes with a traditional OHV engine but it has a sporty look and is more aggressive with a decent speedometer. Honda Deluxe was replaced by Honda CB 125f back in 2019 by Atlas Honda. 

This is a decent bike and direct competitor of Yamaha YBR 125 the price difference is still debatable because Honda CB 125f offers all the things as the Yamaha 125 is offering but the price difference is around PKR 70,000. The Honda CB 125f has the same engine as of Honda CG 125 that means you will get a decent amount of power but not like Honda City 125 because Honda CB 125f has more body weight.

The Honda CB 125f price in Pakistan is PKR 3,96,900 and this is a sweet price segment. Most of the Chinese players introduced their 150 cc imported bikes between this price range. The main rival of this bike is Yamaha YBR 125 and the price of that bike is PKR 4,65,000. So for the Honda CB 125f price of PKR 3,96,900 you get an OHV engine which produces around 10 horsepower and you get disc brake at the front tire, alloy rims, great paint quality and sportier headlight.

The bike comes with the same engine as of Honda CG 125 which means 124.1 CC air cold engine. This engine is a 4-stroke engine and the horsepower it produces is around 10 hp which is lower than its younger sibling Honda CG 125. The bore and stroke of this bike is the same as a Honda CG 125 which is 56.5 X 49.5 mm. The gearbox of this bike is interesting as it comes with 5 gears which are in constant mesh that means all the gears will apply in forward direction.  This bike comes with traditional wet clutch technology the bike has the traditional carburetor which is the Atlas Honda’s most favorite. 

The fuel average of this bike is also not good because of its OHV engine but definitely it will be better than Honda CG 125 because it has 5 gears. Another good thing about this bike is it has a self starter motor and also the kick start you can start your bike according to your own convenience. The compression ratio of this bike is 9.0:1 that means this bike can easily tolerate the normal grade petrol available in Pakistan.

The front tire is of 2.75-18 M/C (42P) and the back tire is 90/90 18 M/C (51S). The tires come with alloy rims but without tubeless option. The bike has front disc brake and rear drum brake sufficient to hold and grip this bike.

Maintenance

This bike has the same PZ carburettor and same engine just like Honda CG 125 that means the maintenance cost is similar to Honda CG 125. Atlas Honda has a large network of mechanics in Pakistan so the spare parts availability will not be an issue for the riders of this bike. The regular maintenance includes oil change after 1000-1500 kms and oil servicing after 2 to 3 and oil changes. The engine will use the same oil SG grade (20w-50) and the regular maintenance will cost around PKR 1500-2000.

Critiques

The bike has an amazing body and amazing looks but the overall ride quality of this bike is not good because of its OHV engine. Most users also share their opinion on the internet that this bike has a lot of vibration issues just like its younger sibling CG 125. Because of its lot of vibrations it is not suitable for longer rights and longer journeys.

Due to its OHV engine the bike will not deliver good fuel average and the fuel average you have to expect from this bike is between 35 to 30 km.  This is for an ideal bike if the bike engine is not well maintained the fuel average will also drop to 25 to 30 km.

Conclusion & Analysis

The bike has a beautiful and sporty body with decent build and paint quality. Also this bike comes with the traditional OHV engine and the traditional carburettor. This means the bike maintenance will not be any issue and the maintenance will also be on the cheaper side. 

The main drawback of this bike is it’s ride quality which is like the main function of any bike so if you like to travel on Honda CG 125 and love sportier looks.
