Honda CG 125 Price

The Honda CG 125 price comes at the affordable segment as the price is very low as compared to its competitors and the reason is already mentioned as the bike cost is less as compared to its competitor because of the simple engine, transmission and simple braking system. The Honda CG 125 price in Pakistan is PKR 238,500 which is around $900 quietly cheap as compared to international market and also cheaper than Suzuki and Yamaha bikes in Pakistan. Traditionally this bike was not much cheaper as compared to its competitors but after the economic downfall of 2022 the prices of Yamaha and Suzuki increased rapidly. 

In the case of Atlas Honda Honda CG 125 price change from PKR 147,000 to PKR 238,500 but in the case of Yamaha the price increased from PKR 188,800 to PKR 466,000. These prices increased within 4 years from 2021 to 2025. This indicates Atlas Honda was consistent with price and Atlas Honda was able to manage their prices skyrocketing. The reason behind it is the massive localization of motorcycle parts in Pakistan.

Engine

The bike comes with a traditional OHV (overhead valve) engine. The bike’s engine is around 124.1 cm3 with no balancer shaft resulting in a lot of vibrations. This OHV technology is an old school technology mostly used in 2 stroke bikes but the CG 125 is a 4 stroke bike. This OHV engine makes the Honda CG 125 a faster bike and the CG 125 generates around 11HP which is a decent one. The bore and stroke of this bike is 56.5 X 49.5 mm. The engine is air cooled and comes with a 4 speed gear box with constant mesh technology. 

For a 125cc bike the 4 gears are not enough as it causes the bike to rev on higher Rpms to gain speed and as a result the riders face a lot of vibrations. The engine comes with a traditional wet clutch technology and the base variant of CG 125 does not have a self start motor. That means the bike can only start with a kick start only. 

Body and Aesthetics

The bike has the legendary yet simple design this design is perfect for daily commute especially for the Pakistani audience. So the bike offers a simple and a minimalistic design and there are no sharp edges. This bike is just a metal tank with plastic tappets with two tires, light at the front and light at the back with indicators. The bike tank has capacity of 9.2 liters (Reserve: 2 liters). The bike comes in three colors red, black and blue.

The wheel base of this bike is 1204 mm, while the seat height of this bike is 764 mm and ground clearance is 1204 mm. The dry weight of this bike is around 100 kg that means after putting in fluids the weight can go to 105-106 kg.

Speedometer and Headlight

The speedometer of this bike is also classic just like this bike aesthetics. The body of the speedometer of Honda CG 125 offers RPM meter and speed in kilometres. There are no other features like trip meter and gear position indicator and the layout of the speedometer is manual just like old classic manual meters with no fancy stuff. The shape of the metre is on a different side compared to retro style metal where we see the circular dials. 

But in the case of CG 125 the speedometer is in square shape divided into two squares. The turn indicators option is also available with the total mileage covered by the bike is also available. The top speed on the speedometer is 120 and it can go up-to 110 km/h depending on external factors. The headlight of the bike also comes in a square shape with a traditional halogen bulb meaning no led light and also no DRL (daytime running light).

Tyres and Suspension

The Honda CG 125 front tyre is of 2.50 – 18R (4 PR) and the back tyre is of 3.00 – 17 (4 PR). The tyres come with conventional spokes rims and also there is no tubeless tyres option.  The braking system is conventional drum brakes both at the front and at the back breaking is not sufficient as compared to the competitors. Some competitors are using disc brakes at the front which provides sufficient braking but in the case of Honda City 125 the drum brakes are not enough.

The suspension of Honda CG 125 is also simple and minimalistic; at front Honda City 125 provides conventional telescopic fork suspension and at the back the suspension provides this swingarm suspension. The travel of these suspensions is quite the 68 mm travel distance at back suspension on the first suspension travel distance is 103 mm. These travel distances are perfect for daily life rides and tours on roads.

Maintenance

The maintenance of this bike is relatively cheap and easy as compared to its competitors. This bike comes with a traditional PZ carburetor and a traditional OHV engine. The mechanics all around Pakistan are trained to maintain this bike and due to Atlas Honda’s large network presence in Pakistan. You can go anywhere in any part of Pakistan and you will find the mechanics there who can easily work and regular maintenance of your Honda bike. 

The engine requires 1000ml engine oil (20W-50) SG Grade which is also less expensive as compared to other grades. You have to change engine oil after every 1500 km and engine oil is also available from different companies. The average regular maintenance cost of Honda CG 125 is around PKR 1500-2000. 

Critiques

The first critique on the bike is its full average because the bike comes with OHV engine and due to that the performance of the bike is good but the problem is with its average.  You can expect around 30 to 35 km fuel average when it’s well maintained but if it is not well maintained the average control to 25 to 30. Which is significantly low as compared to its competitors like YBR 125 can give 42 -45 km average per liter. 

The other critique is this bike has less braking power as compared to its engine power which is around 11 HP and this bike is made for adrenaline rush , and to ride it fast. Most of the riders specially young boys in Pakistan ride it very fast and with less care which causes the accidents. Honda Cg 125 drum brakes are not enough to stop itself because of its engine raw power.

Conclusion & Analysis

Honda CG 125 price and legendary status in Pakistan but the problem with this bike is very simple with no technology and does not come with a good braking system. Also with a bad fuel average if you like Honda Legacy Honda CG 125 is for you. It is perfect for daily solo commute and for family commute. Don’t buy this bike if you travel from the village to the nearest city or you have to ride for long tours as it has lots of vibrations.
