Introduction
Suzuki Pakistan has launched It’s new four wheeler in which is the Suzuki Fronx. Suzuki Pakistan is claiming that Suzuki Fronx is the first XUV in Pakistan but KIA Stonic is already present in the Pakistani market way before this XUV. Suzuki Pakistan has launched the three variants of Suzuki Fronx in Pakistan two variants are with simple engines. One variant has a hybrid engine that makes Suzuki Fronx the first hybrid XUV in Pakistan.

Suzuki Fronx price in pakistan
The price of this car is also interesting as Suzuki Pakistan is famous for the high prices for economic cars. Like Suzuki Cultus, Swift and Wagon R but in this case the price is not on too much higher side. The three models by Suzuki Pakistan launched between the price range of 6 million to 6.4 million. The Suzuki Fronx price in Pakistan is market competitive and Suzuki is targeting the upper middle class. The direct competition of Suzuki Fronx is KIA Stonic which definitely comes at the lower price but the price difference is not much significant.
The highest model of Stonic is priced at around 6 million and the highest variant of the Suzuki Fronx which is the hybrid variant is priced at 6.4 million. This car can also be a potential car as a replacement for Suzuki Swift which is over priced. The price difference between the most expensive newly launched Suzuki Fronx (EX Showroom Rs. 6,374,000 monotone variant) and the most expensive Suzuki Swift(EX Showroom Rs. 4,766,190) is not too much. Suzuki Fronx became the first hybrid car launched by Suzuki Pakistan.

Engine
We have seen a pattern among the car manufacturers whether they are from China, Japan, Korea, and Europe. The cars are shifting towards the smaller CC engines but with great efficiency and great power. Let’s take the example of the Chinese as most of the SUVs available in Pakistan have 1.5L engines. Some companies sell their cars with the turbo engines while some companies sell with natural aspirated engines, and also some hybrid cars with different mechanisms.
This new Suzuki Fronx has a 1.5 liter K Series engine and this engine is famous for its fuel economy. Suzuki has launched the three variants of this new XUV two of them are with the non-hybrid options and one is the hybrid car automatic 6 speed option. In both cars the engine type is the same which is the K Series engine. The fuel average for normal variants is around 15-16 km/l and the fuel average for the hybrid car is around 19-20 km/l depending on your driving habits and external factors.
The engine comes with four cylinders. The non-hybrid variance comes with the K-15b engine which produces around 77 kW of energy and around 138 Nm of torque. The new engine which is a K15c in the hybrid version produces around 74 kW of energy and 135 Nm. This time Suzuki has integrated a new technology of multiple injections for the cylinder which enhances the performance of engine oil maintaining the fuel average on higher side. The car is available in 3 variants as discussed early or one manual variant with a 5 gears box, a 4-speed automatic transmission, and the hybrid engine with a six speed automatic transmission.
Aesthetics
Exterior
The car is available in 6 monotone colours and the hybrid car in 3 dual tone colours that means there are plenty of choices regarding the colour selection. Overall looks of this car the modern and sleek. The front is aggressive with LED headlights and also the LED projector headlights in fog lamps. There are decent curves around the body and the rear section of this car is also with the LED lamps and a diffuser bumper. So the overall design philosophy of this car is modern and stylish. Interior
The design philosophy of interior is not too modern and also at the same time it’s not too backward just like its exterior. The seats are with two tone colours the mixture of black and brown while the passage of leather on the air doors also available in brown colour the dashboard is a mixture of brown leather and black plastic frame which gives the luxury and comfort experience overall.
Similarly the design of the speedometer and the cockpit of this car is also a mixture of modern and old school vibes. The cockpit is not too fancy and also at the same time it’s not too old school. There is a physical tactile button on the cockpit and the car comes with a push start button. There is a LCD screen in the centre of the car and beneath the screen there is the climate control system both for passenger and driver.
The AC vents are also available for back passengers. The speedometer of this car is also on a contemporary side meaning the RPM and speedometer are in analogue format while there is a LED screen which displays all the relevant and necessary information. This speedometer is not like the latest speedometers which all come with complete LED screens like the Peugeot and Changan Oshan X7.
Analysis
The real question is whether this car will create space in the existing SUVs market of Pakistan or not. Suzuki has a tradition of producing cars between 660cc to 1000 cc like Cultus, Alto and Wagon R. The cars above 1000cc by Suzuki are not successful due to that Suzuki only introduced the four major models above 1000cc in Pakistan including Suzuki Vitara, Suzuki Ciaz, Suzuki Kisashi and Suzuki Swift.
The Suzuki Swift is the only model currently available in Pakistan and all remaining three models are discontinued. The quality and the prices of these three cars were competitive but the market did not receive them well. Because of the mindset of consumers regarding Suzuki is for smaller CC cars only. This time Suzuki has experimented again with a new and modern XUV. This time Suzuki is not competing with Honda and Toyota because they are famous for their sedan cars.
The one good thing about Suzuki Fronx is that it is available at a much lower price as compared to the Chinese competitors. The Chinese SUVs are between 8 million to 12 millions dependent on the specs and performances and they are also with more features and bigger sizes. The only comparator of this car is KIA Stonic which is priced at Rs 374,000 lower than Suzuki Fronx. KIA Stonic has more features than Suzuki Fronx but the main advantage of Fronx is its hybrid engine.
One more question is will Suzuki break the sales records with this car? I think not because KIA is also struggling with Stonic model sales as the target audience is limited for this XUV category. People who love Suzuki can consider this car because it’s not much expensive as compared to the Suzuki Swift. As it offers very more features than Suzuki Swift. The one thing in which Fronx has an edge over Stonic will be the dealer network of Suzuki and the less expensive spare parts as compared to KIA.
Suzuki Fronx has 6 airbags, multimedia steering wheel, digital climate control, adjustable automatic headlights, and luggage capacity of 304 liters. The one thing which Suzuki Pakistan is following like Jaecoo Pakistan is they introduced this car with special offer and the prices will change without any prior notice to the customers. This act in my opinion is a biggest red flag act by any company as the customer with pre bookings also have to pay extra in case of price increase.

Conclusion
If you are looking for a XUV with hybrid Technology the Suzuki Fronx is the only available option in Pakistan. Some of the users they don’t want big SUVs like Jaecoo J7, Jetour Dashing, and Oshan X7 can definitely consider Suzuki Fronx. The price is between 6 million to 6.4 million depending on which variant you purchase. The good thing about this car is you will get the Suzuki network which is available across Pakistan. As compared to its competitor Kia Stonic the car spare parts are less expensive. Also, Suzuki is already famous for its reliable engines and reliable cars.
